Oklahoma is one of the most beautiful states in the United States. The Okies are a mix of Native Americans and Cajuns, which are part of what makes Oklahoma such a wonderful place to visit. The state of Oklahoma is the home of Harley Davidson, the NFL football team, the Thunderbird Casino Resort and the Winter Carnival. Oklahoma has been called the “Land of the Redneck.” There are tons of attractions throughout the state of Oklahoma from the Gulf of Mexico to the Ozark Mountains and everything in between.

One of the more popular attractions in Oklahoma is the “Redneck Racing Hall of Fame,” which is located in Weatherford. The Redneck Raceway Ferris Wheeler Park offers visitors lots of attractions including football games between local teams and features live entertainment. It also features interactive exhibits, video displays, a grand opening celebration and karts to ride. The Redneck Racing Hall of Fame pays homage to the Redneck people of Oklahoma by honoring their efforts in the world of motorsports.

Oklahoma also holds a variety of attractions for visitors that span the spectrum from theme parks to natural preserves. For example, Oklahoma City’s Edmond amusement district is filled with attractions such as the Clay Pits State Park, a location where visitors can see all kinds of animals in their natural habitat. Another place in Oklahoma City is the Edmond Spirit Wings Historical Park, which features an indoor water taxi that tours the facility. Travelers also have the option of taking a tour of the Historic Clay Pits State Park. Here, they can learn about the impact that Indians had on society, view a wide variety of animals along with birds, read stories about notable personalities and enjoy the scenery.

In addition to the theme parks, Oklahoma has a number of museums too, such as the Oklahoma Historical Society of Dallas. The Oklahoma Historical Society is the only museum in the state to receive an entire five-star rating. Visitors can learn about the rich history of Oklahoma, especially in terms of its early development. The museum features interactive exhibits featuring life in Oklahoma, notable figures and rare objects. One notable artifact from the Oklahoma Historical Society is the bricktown water taxi, which is on display at the Oklahoma Historical Society.

The Cowboy and Cowgirl museum at the Science and Space Museum of Oklahoma features dinosaur models from throughout the state and offers visuals about cattle farming in Oklahoma and the formation of the State of Oklahoma. The Land Run Centennial Land Run Monument located in Shawnee is another site that offers visuals of Oklahoma’s history. It features a giant cottonwood tree that was destroyed by lightning during the original pioneer days of Oklahoma.

The Traveling exhibits at the Edmond International Airport include a flight simulator, digital photography, and interactive exhibits. This is one of the many attractions that a traveling group can look forward to seeing during a trip to Oklahoma City. For visitors who are traveling with small children, the zoo offers a special children’s area that features interactive exhibits as well as a petting zoo. Traveling groups can also opt to tour downtown Oklahoma City and witness the sights that define this distinctive metropolitan area.

For more choices in entertainment, Oklahoma City boasts a number of live entertainment shows and performances. Shows at the Verizon Amphitheater are a good option for a traveling group. The “Shake Your Rump” music and dance show features locally popular musicians and entertainers while the sold-out Oklahoma Memorial Day concert is one that visitors won’t want to miss. There are also a number of comedy clubs and shows available at this premier comedy club.

After a long day exploring the Oklahoma City and Fort Walton Beach attractions, there is still a lot to do. Visitors can take part in the Fort Walton Beach Association’s Sea World Water Park, which is located just minutes from the front door of the city. The park includes a wide array of rides, water slides, and other interactive exhibits. Adults can take advantage of the numerous food outlets and fine dining establishments located on W.W. Drive.
